This is a top grade 6000x synthetic nagura stone produced in an unusual size.

 

This stone is used to smooth/refinish the surface of medium and fine grit polishing stones.

 

I find it's best use is following the ATOMA 140x diamond plate as it quickly removes the scratches in the stone's surface and provides a smooth texture which in turn yields more contact area being provided from the stone's surface to the knife making for a more effective stone. I use this combination on all of my polishing stones to pull the most performance out of them.

 

Directions for use: Soak for 10-15 min. prior to use. Keep flat like any other waterstone. Rinse polishing stones after use.
