Naniwa SuperStone 10000x WaterStone
A top favorite of mine, the Naniwa SuperStone 10000x. This stone argueably provides the best and brightest level of polish avaliable from a waterstone while also providing an incredible quality of edge. This is also one of the best feeling stones that I've ever used. It is that "must have" polishing stone that you dream of. I resisted buying this one for a long time myself but now that I own it I wouldn't be without it. A++++ polishing/finishing stone.
Stone comes mounted on sturdy plastic base w/rubber feet.
The Naniwa SuperStone 10000x does not require pre-soaking, just splash water on and go to work.
Size - 210 x 70 x 20mm

Proven 10k September 24, 2012

If your are looking for a mirror polish this stone is hard to beat for the price.

It is a soft polishing stone so may not be best for novice sharpeners as this stone is easy to gouge. I think is works/feels better after a soak but it certainly will still produce a mirror polish with just a splash of water.

For kitchen work I find the edge a bit slick and tend to finish my edge with a few trailing strokes on a lower grit stone to add a bit of bite.

superb stone September 14, 2012

I use this stone for razors mainly, and in my experience of honing hundreds of razors is the the best 10k synthetic stone to use for the task.
The edge is extremely polished and refined and can be use to shave very comfortably after some CrO or diamond spray touch up. The stone can also be used a stepping stone for finishing on a natural stone such as Thuringian/Escher or a very fine Japanese natural.
For knives this stone brings probably the brightest polish on the bevel and for those that like to go to the higher grits it will be a great end point of their edges.

If you like polish September 13, 2012

If you like a polished edge, this is a great stone.  Look no further.  It creates a very nice finish.

It tends to get slick - I firmly advocate lapping it regularly.

The rubber base is a nice feature, but I actually prefer a stone holder like the Suehiro.

Super Shine Machine September 12, 2012
Reviewer: Len from Richmond Hill, ON Canada
This stone is a super-duper shine machine. If you want a mirror-polished edge on your knives, look no further.

Soft feel to the stone, and can glaze over and get slippery faster than other stones, but gives a super refined edge that's still effective, particularly for yanagiba.

Definitely wish I got mine on a mounted base like this one. The base is a good thing, unlike what some other online sources may say.

You won't be dissapointed April 19, 2011

Switched to this from a norton 8k... this stone develops a sharper edge with similar cutting speed. It has a very nice feel as well... it does tend to load up faster than some other polishing stones, but a few quick laps on a diamond stone or the bester 1200x quickly restores a clean cutting surface. Also, it s slow wearing stone... it might just last a lifetime. And it doesn't need to be soaked before use.
