This is a splash 'n go stone that is best used either between the Bester 1200x and Suehiro Rika 5k or as a touch up stone. 

In my use and testing this stone does great in wire edge and burr reduction and helps to achieve a very crisp edge when followed by the Suehiro Rika 5k. I also use this stone on single bevel knives like yanagiba & usuba to achieve an even appearance & silky smooth texture on the blade road (bevel).

Can be used alone as a touch up stone when your edge is dulling and you don't want to raise a burr with a coarser stone. 

The finish created on the edge is very shiny for a 3000x stone. This is likely because the stone is actually rated from the manufacturer as a 3000-4000x stone.

Stone comes mounted on a wood base.
